Consistency: The Warm Light of Trust

How do you approach communication and relationships with others?

Through connecting and engaging with people via social media and my blog, I’ve come to realize one crucial truth: consistency is a key indicator of a person’s authenticity and trustworthiness.

I’ve witnessed firsthand that people who inspire genuine trust respond sincerely and consistently, regardless of the status or importance of the person they are interacting with. These individuals go beyond backgrounds or personal interests, maintaining steady communication by answering questions, showing genuine interest, and fostering connection.

One of the most surprising discoveries I’ve made while connecting with successful leaders around the world through platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook is that the more successful a person is, the more evident their humility and consistency become. Even with their busy schedules, they always take time to respond thoughtfully and never neglect even the smallest forms of communication.

On the other hand, I’ve also experienced moments where some people approached me only when they needed something, and once their need was met, the communication quickly faded. While such experiences can leave a sense of disappointment, they’ve also deepened my appreciation for those who maintain steady and consistent relationships.

a consistent glow of trust

Take, for instance, President Abraham Lincoln, who made it a habit to spend 15 minutes each day writing personal letters to his acquaintances. His unwavering efforts to connect and his humble approach continue to inspire many and remain a defining aspect of his leadership to this day.

Consistency not only builds trust on its own but also casts a warm light that strengthens and nurtures relationships with those around us.

While shining stars are beautiful, I personally prefer the soft and steady glow of the moon. The moon, with its consistent presence, lights up the night sky and offers a sense of comfort and peace. That’s why I deeply admire those who embody authenticity and trust through their unwavering consistency.

I hope you, too, can build trust and foster warm leadership through the power of consistency.

The weather has turned cold here in Korea. Wishing you all a healthy and warm week ahead!
